Arizona Room - Precscott Resort & Conference Center

Precscott Resort & Conference Center

Skill Level: Intermediate

Back by popular demand! This one day workshop is designed to assist the student in increasing their tooling skills. With the aid of close-up cameras and a large screen TV, Bobby will cover a variety of subjects such as leather, the swivel knife, tools and stamping surfaces. Particular focus will be on tool selection, tooling sequence options, texture options and final finish considerations on the pattern. He will demonstrate the proper way to sharpen a swivel knife blade, the handling of tools, and the impact of various tool textures on the final result. The student will tool a small floral pattern during the class, providing Bobby the opportunity to tailor specific comments to the individual. Emphasis will be on applying the techniques presented and NOT on completion of the sample. Time permitting, there will be an open Q & A session at the end of the workshop where he will answer questions regarding any subject which may interest the class. Leather donated by Hermann Oak Leather Co.

Materials to Bring: Note taking materials, stamping and border tools, swivel knife, strop, stamping surface and a camera. Bobby’s direct contact info: 602-999-3099 or hidepounder@gmail.com
