Belt Pattern Carving & Stamping

Al Gould

Saturday, March 3, 8 am - 5 pm

Arizona Room - Prescott Resort & Conference Center

Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced

You’ll begin your day carving and stamping some designs of your choice on swatches of belt leather. Al has many designs from which to choose, from beginner to very ambitious! You will be able to do more than one! Antiquing and blacking the background is covered next, followed by instruction on lining your belts with pigskin or 3 oz. strap leather (with opportunity to add decorative cuts to the strap leather, too!). The emphasis of this workshop is on floral stamping designs (tap offs) which can translate well for use not only on strap goods, but also projects needing larger designs. Materials donated by Hermann Oak Leather Co. and Renia USA.

Materials to Bring: Basic stamping tools of your choice, mallet, swivel knife, strop, ruler, tracing paper, pencil, wing divider, stylus and stamping surface.
