All About Chaps!

Jesse W. Smith

Tuesday, February 27, 8 am - 5 pm

Bradshaw Room - Prescott Rescort & Conference Center

Skill Level: All skill levels welcome!

Jesse is back, and he’s bringing with him all manner of chaps. He’ll have chaps in various stages of assembly, and will cover the many styles of chaps to be made: Texas, Arizona, Batwing, Shotgun and Step-Ins. You will also learn how to design your own patterns for your customers or yourself! Jesse will have an example of each on display. This is a full day workshop, so bring along your questions and even projects you may need help with.

Materials to Bring: Note taking materials, chap projects (if desired) and a camera.

Jesse Smith

Jesse began making leather craft items while in the Air Force. He made his first saddle for his dad. Eventually, he bought The Tack Shop in Spokane, WA, and has built saddles ever since. Jesse also taught saddlery at Spokane Falls Community College for 28 years. He now lives in Pritchett, CO, and operates his own saddle making school, and is an accomplished chap maker. Jesse received the Al Stohlman Award for Achievement in Leathercraft in 2001.
